Bifeprunox initially looked like it might be a blockbuster for Solvoy when it was first studied.
Analysis
Solvoy had initially hoped that Bifeprunox might be the first of the new generation Atypical Antipsychotics that had no risk of causing diabetes and/or Metabolic Syndrome. Unfortunately, the data did not confirm the initial high hopes for this drug. It still may hold great promise for refractory schizophrenic patients.
