IT SEEM THAT TROPICANA ENTERTAINMENT MAY FINALLY BE HEADED IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION
Analysis of:
TROPICANA BUYER GAMBLED BIG ON '06 BUY - FELL HARD | www.lasvegassun.com

Implications: New top man at Tropicana Entertainment, Scott Buterra, has handled his new duties with efficiency and care for employee's. A good start for a company that had it's head buried in the sand since being purchase by Bill Yung in 2006. Even having paid more than market value for Tropicana Entertainment, with expert management there could have been light at the end of this dark passage way.
Analysis: It seems appropriate to revisit the Tropicana Entertainment situation. I am very happy to see that the Tropicana Las Vegas just recently settled their major union problems. It will certainly will go far to show that they have reached a serious start to making this property a successful entity on the LV strip. There is plenty left to be done to get the Trop back on a proper footing, however, it seems new management is serious about seeing things happen for this once grand hotel and casino. It all starts with the first step and it seems thy they have reached that goal. It certainly will not be easy for them to renew confidence in their customers. It did not take long for them to beat this property in ugly submission - it will take a bit longer to show they have turned things around and are looking to raise all levels of doing business. It is my impression that the new managers have some solid goals in mind for this hotel. It will need all the help it can get from them. The restoring of good relations between management and general staff certainly needs a kiss and make up policy. It looks as though they are correcting past indiscretions and trying to make amends to their staff employee's.
I do think that Tropicana Entertainment can be lifted out of the ashes and put back into the main stream of doing business in the proper manner. It will take some time, but with real effort and exacting management they can have this company off their duff and back to a respectable position in the gaming community.
