Implications: There has been a sea change in the treatment of postoperative cataract patients. The addition of a nonsteroidal has significantly reduced postoperative complications such as edema, discomfort and inflammation.

Compliance with all medications is always an issue, and the use of a once daily medication potentially makes this a non-issue. I have been impressed with the BID Xibrom and my patients in the phase 3 trial did exceptionally well.

I expect that this will be well received, pending acceptance of formularies.

Analysis: I believe that this will be available by Q4 2007.

Xibrom BID has a 7% market share and exponential growth; the improvements here should help continue to grow market share.
