Analysis
In regards to the article, I believe Honda is feeling pressure from GM. It was mentioned that the car company (ie: Honda) consistantly makes a profit. It is a fact that Honda's (also Nissan and others) vehicles built in the US are produced at factories that may not have Union workers. GM has obligations to the Unions that cost them several thousand dollars per vehicle. I think this an unfair advantage. I believe Honda is feeling the same pressures as our Big 3! Gm produces many fuel efficient vehicles that are as good or better than Honda. What we as Americans should pay attention to is, American dollars spent on a Honda, whether the vehicle is built here or in Japan inevitably goes back to Japan. The expertise to build quality vehicles is not exclusive to any one country. Many new technologies come from our own engineers, designers and manufacturers only to be copied by others. Foreign manufacturers if building cars in the USA should have duty if they are non-Union. This would help The Big 3 manufacturers compete on an even playing field. Keep the US dollar in the US. Keep the American workers working!
