Summary

In response to Mr. Schulz's article, wow you are quite the supporter of NAFTA. But I believe my opinion will shed some light on the people who truly matter.

Analysis

I know most Council Members are thinking, here goes Tony and his non-politically correct opinions.

Regarding the double standards of Mexico" Mexico is a very poor country, as I'm sure we can all agree, due to fact their citizens cross our borders on a daily basis for better opportunities.

Their transportation system, is no where close to ours, since they have such a poor economy, they couldn't force their carriers to maintain the same regulations as the U.S or most Mexican based carriers would go bankrupt?

The reason for my statement, "Have you ever driven south of the border" was meant with no disrespect to anyone, but if you had  you would have seen first hand all the dilapidated trucks.

This continual statement, Mexico will sanction us, regarding NAFTA. Their economy needs us more then we need them.

Let's talk American citizens deaths, many years ago, as the owner of a logistics company, I learned first hand the tragic outcome regarding non-English speaking drivers. A trucking company I brokered out some freight too, was involved in an accident. I was immediately summoned to the scene, to be notified six children were killed. Quite tragic isn't it.

Here sat a driver who couldn't speak a word of English, when I approached him with an interpreter, he stated I couldn't understand the signs, so I didn't realize the cars that were stopped, were at a tollbooth. So he proceeded to run over a vehicle with a mother and six children in it. The Mother lived, but what term of political correctness, will bring her children back?

I've said this before, we can all give thumbs up to political correctness, but what if it was one of our children killed or are wives and or husband. Would we all still support NAFTA? As supporters of NAFTA start jumping on this bandwagon; I would please ask, remember the six children who were killed, and a mother and father's loss.
