Summary

This artlice talks about Google aggrsive push into the struggling radio market.

The hundreds of thousands of Google's clients will be introduced to the radio business, through their purchase of Dmark a few months ago.

This is the first major deal announced towards Google jumping into the radio business

Analysis

I have loved this idea ever since I heard the announcement. There are so many small businesses that would love to advertise on the radio, or at least try to advertise on the radio. Pricing terms of how dmark will charge advertisers are not disclosed as of yet, but I assume the cost to entry will not be expensive, and advertisers will be able to do everything online. Google is trying to transform the radio business much like it has done for search. While I don’t believe that all prime time radio will be purchased through Google, many struggling radio stations will be forced to deal with Google, or risk further declines in the already struggling radio market. Google brings with it hundreds of thousands of advertisers who are hungry to turn more sales in any medium possible.

Google could bring a major shift in the way advertisers buy airtime. Imagine an auction type model for radio.Maybe Google is a savior for the radio industry. Either way, the radio industry is taking a hard look at Google Radio
