Analysis

Good ideas often originate from small companies, which are not burden by the profit race. But when the good idea is developed, thoroughly checked and allowed for clinical use, it seems that at this phase the limits of a small company, become obstacle. So in that sense, this acquire should make the good product more available, maybe even cheaper than if further produced by the small company and of course, the possibilities of further improvements and inventions based on it should be greater. However this kind of acquisition in my opinion brings two kind of danger: for Abbot possibility of overstretching in many areas which might reflect on quality and for Evalve, a loss of a small company as a source of new great ideas.
