Summary

Higher pressure or not , the gas cylinders  market is an important segment in the industrial gas business for smaller users and mobile applications in medical and industry and are here to stay but controls technology must continue to improve on safety and reliability.

Analysis

Can you imagine an Airplane without Oxygen Cylinders or a patient in a hospital bed with Oxygen or a welder without industrial gases as Argon ? The answer is most certainly not . Large users of industrial gases do not need such cylinders as pipe lines and on site processing is their main source. But when it gets to consumer, medical, smaller users and others, cylinders are an important source for storing, transporting and using industrial gases. No matter how high-pressure the cylinder is filled at, as long as there are reliable vendors providing safe valves, guages and regulators then the cylinder is safe to store and use. The problem of safety, regardless of the PSI level , existed for a long time when the vendor has no capability for machining precision components and testing  them vigorously under all conditions. Using small job shops has been  has been at times the cause for the mishaps and accidents where the cylinders pup up as fireworks. It is important therefore for the processor of industrial gases to select a reputable vendor that specializes in controls and regulation with a reputation of quality and safety . Once this step is achieved the Cylinder is safe and fine.
