Implications: Apple will shut it down with the next software upgrade. It will have no current effect, but shows a glimpse of a future product. A product that is very much needed and wanted.

Analysis: Hacking is a way of life and counterattack is also a way of life. I am certain Apple will release a software “Upgrade” shortly to stop the use of this system bypass. Then the hackers will try again and Apple will patch again and on and on and on. This is what has happened whenever someone opened up iTunes. But lets look beyond the hacking. I do not want a phone, its far too expensive for me. I am happy with my simple cheap service. Many others are also happy with their service and will not switch. But what I do want is an Internet device that the hacker will provide for a few brief days. I would be willing to pay the higher price for the gadget it’s the monthly fees I do not want. Since Apple has not refreshed its iPod line, its time to take the iPhone form factor and use it for an entirely new line of iPods. It only makes sense to take this form factor and develop the phone into a internet device. If Apple achieves its goal of the phone market, it still will be minor compared to the entire phone market. The concept of an internet device would open up a totally untapped market. Its growth could be much larger than the iPhone.
