US Government alone has ordered 120 million doses, and the current suppliers like Novartis, Baxter, Chiron, etc... will be able to supply only 45 - 50 million doses.
We have not factered in the orders from EU, & other nations in this.
The Demand & Supply gap is huge, but the bone of contention is will the vaccines be ready before the flu die down.

this is similar to gambling!!
If the flu dies down a lot of people will be sitting on a lot in inventory, enough to fill oceans.
Most companies believe it will get worse.
Ajanta like most Indian counter parts, not wanting to be left behind, has tied up with Canadian Madicago hoping for the best.
As per current estimate the 1st Made in India vaccine will be out only by next April - May time frame!!!
