Analysis

it's a well known fact that it's easier to help an effective therapy than an uneffective one. I have seen many attempts at re-establishing platinum sensitivity in oavarian cancer, fail. I have worked on the trials personally, as I have a personal interest in mechanisms of resistance and overcoming it. I think the real problem in ovarian cancer, is the platinum resistant. These obviously exist in two forms, the denovo resistant and the delayed. The latter are often artificially defined in clinical trials, based on how soon after the completed their last platinum treatment, they recurred, so reader beware! Never-the-less I feel we need more treatments for refractory ovarian cancer, unfortunately the FDA does not always think so( sorry Yondelis).
