Summary
Tech behemoths have to change strategy to keep earnings growth. Sometimes their strategies are unclear until its too late for competitors. I've seen this movie before. I know the ending.
Analysis
To those with short memories or a lack of understanding of the megatrends in the computer industry, competitors HP and IBM, not on Cisco's side, dismiss their recent moves as insignificant. If you peel away the skin, you see glaring holes where Cisco competitors are ill-equipped to deal with what's coming their way.
Having been CEO of iSCSI-FC bridge board maker AlaStor Networks, who worked with Cisco on their early Andiamo products, I can see what they are doing and why.
