Summary

Intellectual capital in commercial real estate.

Analysis

Commercial real estate is going through a nasty secular downturn. Many people will leave the industry, from analysts to chief executive officer's. With this significant loss of intellectual capital, will there be enough seasoned executives to lead real estate firms after the recycling of distressed assets?
The answer is probably not. Many from the baby boom generation will retire and leave the industry. There will also be global demand for commercial real estate talent from Asia and the Middle East, further pressuring the market for talent.
