Implications: The phase 2 data for Incyclinide indicate a modest benefit over placebo for the 20 mg dose only, which drops off at 12 weeks. This drug will need a higher dose for efficacy. The premise behind a non antimicrobial antibiotic type medication is valid and intriguing. The next trial results are important to the viability of the product.

Analysis: If the next higher dose trial shows efficacy at a greater rate than the 20 mg dose then the drug will have a good impact on the market. It will be the first non antimicrobial oral medication in acne.
