Centecor Ustekinumab- an impressive product for psoriasis

Implications:  The new Centecor psoriasis product, Ustekinumab, is impressive in its efficacy. The PASI 75 reduction is equal or surpasses Remicade, the current leader in efficacy in psoriasis. This product has the advantage of being a self administered injection at home, rather than a prolonged IV injection at the office or hospital. This product will offer stiff competition to Amgen's Enbrel, and Abbott's Humira.

Analysis:   The release of this powerful product will benefit Centocor sales in a significant way, probably exceeding current sales of Remicade, their other psoriasis product. Amgen and Abbott will see a potential decline or lack of growth in their product sales.
