Can this unlocking suit spread to everything?

Supreme Court OKs Cellphone Unlocking Suit | blog.wired.com

Implications: Can a supplier of a product limit how you use that product? That is the basic question in my opinion in this case. ATT and T-Mobile have placed restrictions on products by requiring a service contract that allows use of a product only on their network. What about other products?
Analysis: Assume for a minute that the courts rule you cannot limit product usage with a service agreement, iPhone and the ATT network.
What's to stop the next suit that Apple can't limit the use of the iPod with the iTunes network. I don't see much of a difference and this court case could be a major determination of product usage for many years to come.
Somehow I believe the phones will be unlocked as this my go back to years ago when the auto companies had to allow the use of oil filters that were not made by them and allow people to have their vehicles serviced by other than a dealership without loss of warranty.
If the phones are broken off from the service contracts will a new suit be far behind to unbundle the iPod.
