Implications: CombinatoRx new combination product- CRx-191 is intriguing in that it combines a topical steroid with nortryptiline to minimize the negative effects of the steroid and make it more potent. This would be useful in that higher potency topical steroids are more effective, but cause more thinning of the skin and cannot be used for long periods. A product with high efficacy with minimal side effects would be useful.  This study would have more impact if more patients were used, and if all patients did not serve as their own controls. Also the psoriasis severity measures that will be used would have been useful  to list in this article. We await the results of this study.

Analysis:   If the results are positive, then this will have a significant impact on the steroid marketplace in that this product will become important and useful in having high potency efficacy without the thinning side effects.
