Implications: To smoke or not to smoke - a question that is being pondered by casino properties in Colorado. It's not the only State that has either implemented or plans to start non smoking casino properties. It seem that it has affected the bottom lime for the Colorado properties. The facts are that it may be  a deterrent for some smoking guests to not go into a smoke free casino.

Analysis:  There are certain truths to have a smoke free environment in a casino property. How hard will it affect the bottom line and what can be done to alleviate the situation. Doubtful, that once a non smoking law is on the books, that it will be repealed in quick order. The fact is, it may never be repealed. So, what is the alternative for casinos to help their smoking customers find a place to scratch their smoking itch? The price to find an set a smoking area that does not have an effect on the casino floor is vital. It's easy for a non smoker to say that they suffered all the years there was no ban - that does not help - there needs to be some compromise that allows the smoking public to have a place to enjoy their habit.

The rub here is, if revenues are suffering from this ban, then it's up to the casino industry to find a marketing ploy to appease all concerned.
I know that smokers don't want to leave a property to go outside and do their thing - It may come down to smoking areas that are within short walking distance from the casino floor. It's also been pretty much proven that a gambler will allow little stop them from playing their favorite casino games.  - the ban in some way might limit the time spent on a game, but it's my opinion they alwaysl come back for more.

It's going to be a wait for some properties to regain their same or higher revenues. Remember, that gaming will survive smoking bans and those willing to expand marketing, take that extra step to see that smokers and non smokers are both welcome will find that business will trickle back to good times........The agressive properties will find the answer to the problem a bit faster - just my opinion.............
