CNTO 1275 will have an impact on the psoriasis market
Analysis of:
Centocor, Inc. Releases Phase 2 Data on Novel Biologic CNTO 1275 Targeting Chronic Plaque Psoriasis | pharmalive.com

Implications: Centocor's product CNTO1275 will have a major and sustained impact on the market:
1. Its PASI 75 reduction is better than the current injectables other than Centocor's Infliximab, which requires a complicated IV infusion.
2. Side effects are comparable to other agents.
3. It is specifically being developed for psoriasis, rather than being developed for other indications, and then being brought in for psoriasis.
4. Patients will not complain about the 4X/week injection, with the higher efficacy.

Analysis: With the high PASI 75 scores, I think that the frequency of injections will be less important. Its PASI 75 scores are in line with Centocor's Infliximab, but is more convenient than an IV infusion.
This is a viable treatment option for patients as long as it is priced in line with other biologics.
