This is a great addition to Panera's breakfast day part as three sandwiches will be added in March and April to all stores.

From 2005-2007, the restaurant industry has seen a 23% increase in available breakfast items, so this is definitely a good move for Panera.

Last year Au Bon Pain said sales of breakfast sandwiches rose 28% and Panera sees this as a huge growth are for them as well.

I think this will help a possible launch of newer coffee beverages to compete with other chains as well as QSR concepts.

This is not a substitute for the failed Crispani, it is just something that should have happened a few years ago, and the offerings are unlimited.
