Summary

The presented bone substitute is comparable to 240 others in Germany. Only a few bone substitutes differ by bone induction like (DBM(R) Synthes) or (Grafton). Osteoconductive bone substitutes are very common. Only PerOssal(R) by aap, also osteoconductive,  is  selectively  loadable  with antibiotics  and  can be additionally used for osteomyelitis indications. There is a wide range of resorbable osteoconductive bone substitutes, which do not differ significantly in clinical usage. Influencing factors such as vital surrounding tissue, blood supply and defect size are more important than gradually changes of components such as hydroxyaptite and calcium sulphate.

Biomaterials is a very competitive market. The presented product do not differ from others that a greater impact to the market has to be expected.
