Summary

Traditions are hard to break.  The Friday after Thanksgiving is no exception.  People plan on that day to be their shopping day, but is it the biggest shopping day of the year?

Analysis

It is not a secret that retailers are stretching the holiday shopping season.  Christmas items were on the floor before the Halloween goods were a neatly packed away.  Maybe due to panic, or most likely due to competition, the deep discounting and per-cent off coupons began to appear before Thanksgiving.  More and more stores are open on Thanksgiving and then there is the online shoppers.  I can only see the discounting getting deeper and the larger use of coupons to lure customers into the stores.  I see the closer to the Christmas Holiday that the use of computers will generate more sales then then Black Friday.  After all it is more convenient to sip your coffee and click away.  Black Friday will always be a big day--Tradition--but cyber sales will become larger, and with the expanding the selling season, the sales will be spread out more.
