Summary
I agree totally with Jeff's assessment and it is right on target. With Circuit City not knowing which direction to go in, it clearly puts Best Buy as the industry leader in consumer electronics. Walmart should gain market share as they fine tune their stores. Wholesalers will compete with one another on price and see who can give the biggest rebates.
Analysis
As I travel and visit stores on the East Coast, I can usually see a Circuit City and Best Buy together within eye site. Clearly Best Buy has far more customers than Circuit City. If Circuit City survives 2008, it will be a miracle as they are definitely on their way out.
Walmart is also becoming a major player in the electronics field as it has revamped and remodeled its electronic departments in most of their retail locations.
However; always watch out for Costco, B.J.'s, and Sam's for those great deals on big screen T.V's. These big 3 Wholesalers usually offer great rebates on most LCD and Plasma T.V.'s that Best Buy will have to meet their prices to be competitive especially with this line of electronics.
