Summary
Apple is becoming a mature company with its growth slowing in the US and Europe. Microsoft has realized it must change its OS to compete with the Mac and is doing so with Windows 7. So for Apple to continue to grow it has to expand into more markets and has had to change it ways.
Analysis
One major factor that almost everyone has over looked is that Apple that never changes its way and had to do so on the iPhone for China. First it had to kill the WiFi feature and then it had to accept an open contract allowing more than one carrier. This is a major shift for Apple. It also shows the new wiliness to adopt to continue growth. Something they would not have done in the recent past.
Microsoft is not going to roll over and let the Mac OS walk away with the market and Windows 7 is going to be a major attempt to continue the PC way of life. You can see the changes in MS with its ads to show PC’s are cheaper and now with Windows 7 they will say just as good as a Mac.
So Apple is going to be hit on many fronts in the coming days. To continue their growth you will see both changes in product line and more importantly business practices.
