Implications: Most IT organizations supporting the Blackberry Enterprise Server recognize serious flaws in the architecture. ActiveSync can easily be supported by organizations running Exchange Server, providing greater control, security, and reliability. In six months time, iPhone's sales exceeded 1 million units through limited distribution. The iPhone had a hand in driving a significant increase in wireless data utilization during 3Q07 when some 45 million U.S. wireless subscribers performed a  mobile search from their wireless handset.  iPhone users content consumption is growing at astonishing rates.  (See M:Metrics study http://www.mmetrics.com/press/PressRelease.aspx?article=20080318-iphonehype)

Analysis: Apple stands to make significant inroads in global enterprise markets, particularly in mid-sized organizations as popular SaaS apps like Salesforce pop up on iPhones and other distribution channels are turned up. T-Mobile-Austria launched the iPhone last week and the Apple store in Beijing is pegged to open this summer.   Given the fact that European and Asian consumers have greater tendency to adopt sophisticated and fashionable devices like the iPhone, I expect Apple will meet or exceed their 2008 forecast.
