Summary

This will be another useless report to create business for EGL, drive up the price of a diamond, confuse the general public more and serve no useful purpose.

Analysis

It seems today that on a regular basis, there is a new branded diamond cut or a new gemological toy machine being introduced. All of this only serves to confuse the general public more than it does to help sales.
Imagine, if GMC or Ford were to constantly introduce new name brand cars to compete with their regular cars. I am not speaking of new models, but new brands. There has been more new diamond cuts introduced in the last 20 years, than there were in the previous 100 years. Most of these new cuts serve no other purpose than to give someone bragging rights. Example, the TRIANGLE cut, now there are 3 more, Trillion, Trilliant, and Trillium. Differences next to none, but notice all the names sound similar. Square Cut now has a Quadrillion and a Princess Cut. etc. etc. Israel has amachine similar to this one called the Sarin. You have GIA, EGL, IGI and AGSL, all fighting to be the top dog in the diamond appraisal field. They should work together to create better standards, stop the diamond cut branding with pseudo cuts and concentrate on better service to the customer at affordable prices.
