Analysis of:
Abbott's ABT-874 Shows Positive Results for Maintenance of Response in Phase II Psoriasis Study | www.pipelinereview.com
This analysis is solely the work of the author. It has not been edited or endorsed by GLG.
Implications: Abbotts ABT-874 monoclonal antibody for psoriasis shows impressive results in the phase 2 trial. The results were up to 90% of patients achieving at least 75% reduction in their psoriasis. These results are as good or better than those with Remicade the most effective biologic for psoriasis currently. Side effects were not discussed. The Centocor product has similar efficacy and it will be tight race to determinre the winner.
Analysis: Once these products are released the other current products will have a hard time competing with either Abbotts or Centocors products in term of efficacy. The only thing holding them up would be unforeseen side effects.
