Summary

By adding a third OTC antihistamine eye drop to the mix the price competition should make the cost to the consumer decrease.

Analysis

First there was Zaditor, then there was Aloway, now there is Optivar! The cost of  OTC eye drops has not appreciably fallen to the consumer.

It is often less expensive to get a prescription for antihistamine eye drops then to pay OTC prices.

I think this will change. It tips the scale to the consumer side. I expect the price of all antihistamine to fall due to the emergence of this newest one.

I do not expect any great changes in the field if there is proper distribution of the product.

Will get get samples? We will see!
