3D IS NOT YOUR SAVIOUR!
Analysis of:
IMAX makes screen play | www.variety.com

Implications: The market place is far from finding a saving grace in 3D, it's still a novelty and will remain one for sometime to come. The lack of any one agreed upon format for 3D leaves the industry little or no chance of main streaming the products. If they get it together and work for a common goal, by combining their efforts, someday maybe it will be more main stream. It's a not a short term play by any extent.
Analysis: While it is good to know you went to the movies and had fun, it doesn't speak of the reality of the 3D world. As one of the foremost experts in the field today, I find it quite disturbing to think because you enjoyed a movie or heard what you think is the next big saving grace would poses you to write an article such as this. You need to get a real taste of what we in the industry think of the quality and cost of the 3D movie. The market place is far from finding a saving grace in 3D, at best you'll be fortunate if they take the opportunity improve the quality of their movies and maybe if they ever reach a common ground on the format, it's possible you will see some movement. Until they get their combined acts together, it will remain nothing more then a novelty.
