Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG) connects leading corporations, investment firms, non-profit corporations and other consumers of professional knowledge with some of the world’s leading experts to better understand industry issues and trends. In addition to this marketplace of expertise, GLG also arranges educational interactions between its clients and members of the GLG Councils–an expert network of academics, scientists, industry professionals and other thought leaders worldwide. Council Members, as we refer to experts in the GLG Councils, are paid at an hourly rate and can make honoraria payable to employer.
Council Members often find their participation with GLG valuable for their professional development. Projects can be scheduled after hours or at such other times as required by our Council Members.
Council Members interact with our clients through:
GLG invites a select group of professionals to join GLG Member Programs. Council Members not enrolled in GLG Member Programs may only participate in a limited number of consultations and online surveys. In order to enroll in Member Programs, most employed Council Members must provide GLG with written consent from their employers.
Gerson Lehrman Group interactions must follow rigorous compliance standards. All experts must sign a detailed Terms and Conditions contract before joining the GLG Councils. Among other things, the Terms and Conditions contract requires Council Members to agree to the following:
You can view the Terms and Conditions of Council Membership at http://www.glgroup.com/tandc.aspx. Council Members are also required to complete a tutorial on confidentiality and GLG's compliance rules before joining the GLG Councils (and thereafter annually). This tutorial is viewable at http://www.glgroup.com/Tutorial.html.
GLG clients are subject to a similar agreement with similar restrictions, protections and requirements. Learn more about GLG's compliance framework at http://www.glgroup.com/Compliance-Guide.html. We make clear to our clients that Council Members must act in accordance with their agreements and that clients must respect the limitations each Council Member has in their ability to consult.
If there are guidelines, prohibitions or limitations that an employer wishes to put in place regarding employee participation in the GLG Councils, employers may register their preferences through our Institutional Registry at (http://www.glgroup.com/Registry.asp). GLG's systems have the ability to, for example, embed an employer's conflict of interest policy into the emails we send to employees of that company. There is no cost to use this system.
