- Definition: Revenue Sharing
-
Revenue Sharing is a fee between a carrier operator and a contracted party based on a percentage of the monthly billing for a designated feature, usage or content; differs from a residual fee that is calculated on meeting thresholds of new subscriber activations, retention, and total revenue. Revenue-sharing agreements are the alternative to license contracts with minimum or sales-based royalties because the end-user usage is uncertain.
