Definition: Cash-cost-per-user (CCU)

Cash-cost-per-user (CCU) is a key performance index for a carrier operator that measures the ongoing profitability of the subscriber base; calculates the total cost of servicing, billing, retention and churn; determines the ROI on the subscriber acquisition cost (SAC) and the profitability of the average-revenue-per-user (ARPU); frequently used to determine the customer mix of postpaid, prepaid, and unlimited usage subscribers.
