Botulinum Toxin Type A

Also known as Botox, this is a toxin that temporarily paralyzes the muscles in the face and neck. It is used around the eyes and forehead, and is injected into the muscles of expression. Botox last 4-5 months and has few if any side effects. It is also being used for excessive sweating on the palms, soles, and underarms, as well as for neurologic conditions like migraines.
