This a term widely used among professional practitioners such as certified public accountants, registered investment advisers, attorneys, and private bankers that utilize strategic and advanced financial consultancy methodologies. The solutions provided to clients will vary. These solutions are typically offered to highly affluent individuals, foundations, endowments, multi-family offices, and accredited investors. On a comprehensive basis the services rendered may included but not be limited to: advanced financial planning; tax advice; discretionary and non-discretionary investment management; legal guidance; estate preservation; trust management; and charitable giving strategies. The term also may be use to reference resources for private banking, including access to specialized bank products and the allocation of assets into non-traditional accounts, including off-shore accounts.
