The maritime transportation segment associated with transporting commodities in bulk, rather than containerized or palletized. The "major" bulk cargoes include coal, iron ore and grains. "Minor" bulk commodities include fertilizer, wood products, cement, metal ores, fertilizer, etc. Dry bulk shipping is segmented by ship size, with the largest ships being capable of carrying over 300,000 tonnes of cargo dispersed between multiple cargo holds.
