Slot games electronically linked to a central computer or server system. From the central server, authorized personnel can send not only slot game title changes but also game denomination adjustments, bonus payouts, and promotional information. This information can be downloaded in seconds through the central server to a bank(s) of slot games located on a casino floor that are essentially nothing more than terminals. For comparison, present-day Class lll slot machines are individual units that require their own “game chip.” Any changes an operator wishes to make to a slot machine must happen on a “one-game-at-a time” interval. It is costly and time consuming. This process has been available for Class ll slot games mostly at tribal facilities. SBG entry into the Class lll market with additional software enhancements will offer many new features beneficial to both operators and customers. Plans are to include the capability for slot manufacturers to work through an interface linked to the floor server for communication of their specific software to the gaming floor. Testing still continues for this product by many manufactures at live casino test sites. Roll-out is considered for 2009 subject to local gaming jurisdiction approvals.
