Definition: Promotional Toy

Any toy that is supported by a television campaign or is a licensed product from a movie or television program. Examples of movie properties are Spider-Man, Batman, Shrek, etc. Examples of television licenses are Sesame Street, Dora the Explorer, the Wiggles. A promotional toy can also have a strong license such as Barbie, Hot Wheels, or other nationally advertised brands. The average price today of promoted toys is $29.99 to $49.99.
