Motion Upsholstery

Motion Upholstery is defined by the furniture industry as sofas or sectionals that recline. These upholstery pieces have recliner mechanisms in the seats and backs, usually next to each arm. Since these seats recline, the industry refers to them as "Motion." The Motion Upholstery category has been one of the biggest growth categories in the industry for the past five years. Sofas and sectionals that do not have recliners built into them are referred to as "Stationary Upholstery."
