Verizon has been vacillating over the last few years as to whether to put its property in Pittsburgh up for sale. The RBOC is now adamant that it will keep the city. Have Apple-Verizon Talks Broken Down? | www.businessweek.com
Last week it was announced that Nokia has brought a patent infringement case against Apple's Iphone. The infringement case features 10 causes for action including 3G access for the popular Iphones. AT&T tops estimates as customers flock to wireless | www.reuters.com
Wireless revenues are not only driving current profits but will continue to drive long term profits, as the cohort effect of current wireless users bring their habits with them as they age; and as new customers sign up for only wireless services. My college daughter college offers free wirelines in their dorms, but she said she did not need it. She uses her wireless device for all of her communications needs.

Hardball 10/24/09: The Case for Verizon Doing Nothing to Save FairPoint
October 24, 2009
FairPoint says new network backbone in place | www.nashuatelegraph.com
Recently, we wrote about Verizon possibly urging Windstream to buy the FairPoint assets. Even if there was a bankruptcy, it would help the RBOC in selling its properties if FairPoint was immediately picked up by a stable telco. Yet, Verizon has been very recently bending over backwards to state that it has done everything possible to help FairPoint – and will do no more.
