There are lots of reasons for launching the PTT over CDMA. Though it's a nieche product, it can still drive other VAS to be consumed by the subscribers.
July 17, 2008Heidelberg Misses the Mark
Analysis of: Heidelberger Druck Expects Difficult Market Conditions (Wall Street Journal) | online.wsj.com
Author: Edward Crowley, Principal, PHOTIZO GROUP
Heidelberg's stock (HDD) is falling precipitously, from the mid 40's last August to the 10's today. I see several scenarios playing out: Business as usual: The stock will continue to perform poorly since the company is chasing the wrong target market. Analysis of: Consumer push-to-talk: Does anyone really care ‘where you at?’ | telephonyonline.com
Author: Samuel Greenholtz, Principal, Telecom Pragmatics
1. Why is the leap made in the source article that moving push-to-talk to CDMA means that Sprint is going after the consumer space in a big way for this service? 2. And even if that assumption was correct, why is there no questioning of Verizon’s move to put this capability on its own CDMA network? 3. There...
