GLG NewsSM Analyses by William Stueber(?)
Earthlink's participation was predictably a significant mistake. SK Telecom has a broader agenda which justifies continued participation and funding. Earthlink acted as an appropriate partner to launch the venture but brings little to the operational phase.
How well is iPhone Doing? Does Apple understand the wireless industry business model or trying to re-invent it?
- Vzw never would have been a partner, at least now. - AT&T was bargaining from weakness - This is the first in a long string of heightened benchmarks for device/network integration - The iPhone story is only at the very first chapter
iPhone creates a new business model for wireless Partnerships will be forced among historically antagonistic players Effects will be felt sooner than later
