William Day is the Chief Executive Officer at ScanScout, an in-stream video advertising network. Previously Mr. Day was the Chief Media Officer at Marchex, a local online advertising company and publisher of online content. He is responsible for media strategies, including online content, consumer initiatives and advertising opportunities. Previously, he was the Chief Executive Officer of WhenU.com. WhenU.com is an established force in software-based contextual advertising and the industry leader in best practices. Its products include adware, branded toolbars and integrated contextual and behavioral products that enable many Fortune 500 companies to reach consumers with the right message at the right moment without compromising users' privacy or security. Mr. Day is the former Chief Executive Officer of About, Inc, directing its three divisions; About.com, the leading content destination on the Internet; Sprinks, a leader in bid-based pay per click advertising for publishers of content sites and email newsletters; and About Web Services, a leading provider of hosting, domain registration and ecommerce services to small businesses and the enthusiasts via the web. He co-founded About, Inc. in 1996. Prior to that, Mr. Day was a senior executive at the Prodigy Services Company, holding a series of roles managing content, community building and product and software development activities.
