Council Member Biography

William Clyburn, Jr. is the former Vice Chairman of the U.S. Surface Transportation Board (STB), where he rendered decisions regarding rail rate reasonableness cases, mergers and acquisitions, and where he testified before Congress with respect to economic regulation of the railroads. Commissioner Clyburn also served as a counsel in the U.S. Senate where he advised Senators on telecommunications, energy policy, and transportation matters. Mr. Clyburn, who is an engineer as well as an attorney, is the Principal of Clyburn Consulting in Washington, DC. He has experience in all three brances of government and has spent nearly 15 years working with the federal government. He devises legislative and regulatory strategies to enhance clients' financial positions and also conducts public relations efforts. (This is me - Update Profile)
