Victor Tapson, MD, is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at Duke University School of Medicine and the Medical Director of the Duke Pulmonary Hypertension Center. Dr. Tapson was Director for the Duke Lung Transplant Program for over 10 years and Director for the Center for Pulmonary Vascular Disease since 1994. His research interests are venous thromboembolism and pulmonary hypertension. He has been involved with clinical trials leading to FDA-approval for epoprostenol, bosentan, sildenafil and treprostinil, and is a principal investigator on a number of studies with these drugs. Dr. Tapson received the ACCP (American College of Chest Physicians) Fellowship Award, Alfred Soffer Research Award, and Young Investigator Award. He is a member of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (Scientific Leadership Committee), Pulmonary Circulation Assembly of American Thoracic Society, and ISTH (International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis). Dr. Tapson has authored over 180 papers in peer-reviewed journals and 20 book chapters. He has a referral base from 7 states. (This is me - Update Profile)
