Victor Chapron is President of West Coast Digital, GSM (WCD), Inc. and CEO of Diversity Wireless LLC. A wireless expert with more than 15 years of experience in the PCS industry, Victor specializes in penetrating underserved markets through diversity marketing tactics. He started as a paging carrier in Chicago in the late 1980s and began working with SBC Communications/Cingular Wireless in 1994. In 1999, he moved to Los Angeles to become a Cingular Wireless Master Agent and target consumers outside mainstream distribution channels. Currently at 35 locations, his companies West Coast Digital GSM Inc. and Diversity Wireless LLC are the only specialized diversity agent/dealer within Cingular Wireless's distribution. Apparently Peter Adderton, Amp’d CEO hasn’t left the building… for now. Valleywag reported that the mobile maverick was out, a rumor we had heard a few weeks ago, but it was denied by the company. Adderton tells PE Hub that he is still the big cheese. Regardless of his status it seems the company is going through a tenuous period. A variety of sources say that there is trouble brewing, mostly around the issue of subscribers. Our sources say that lack of stringent credit checks and other issues have resulted in a ‘collections nightmare’ as one source put it. Amp’d’s normally attentive PR company has suddenly gone MIA.
