Thomas Laursen

Thomas Laursen is currently Owner & Founder of Southlake Business Advisors, where he has worked since 2006. Southlake Business Advisors provides management advisory services, focusing on small to medium manufacturing companies in the furniture, bedding and automotive sectors. Previously, Mr. Laursen served as Vice President of Manufacturing at CTA Acoustics, a manufacturer of acoustic and thermal insulation products used to make passenger cars, trucks and ventilation systems until early 2006. Prior to CTA, he was President and CEO of Vitafoam, a UK based foam manufacturer, with British Vita acting as the parent company. Mr. Laursen has over 20 years of experience in the industry and is an expert in all aspects relating to foam and foam manufacturing including markets, supply chain, foam manufacturing trends. He is familiar with Vitafoam, Foamex, Leggett and Platt, Flexible Foam, Carpenter, and the Woodbridge Group. He also is familiar with the marketing and supply side of the mattress industry with respect to foam content and components, including the newer viscous elastic memory type foams.
