Thomas Jackson is the Director of Strategic Marketing and Research at Estes Express, largest private LTL carrier in North America. Mr. Jackson is responsible for conducting industry and market analysis, and providing business intelligence for strategic marketing and corporate sales growth. He has over 15 years of experience in leading market analysis groups and competitive intelligence programs in the freight transportation industry. Mr. Jackson was previously, a Strategic Marketing & Competitive Intelligence Manager at Roadway Express (YRC Worldwide). He was instrumental in their merger/acquisition strategies. Prior to that, Mr. Jackson was with FedEx Custom Critical, managing the market analysis group for the largest ground-expedited carrier in North America. He holds an MBA from Ashland University. Mr. Jackson is a member of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professional and speaks on topics such as State of Trucking Industry and Competitive Intelligence in Business. YRC is not a takeover target...for many reasons

Shares of YRC Worldwide Inc. jumped today on speculation that Deutsche Post AG has offered $41 a share for the Overland Park transportation giant. YRC Worldwide shares rose as much as 8.7 percent to $30.20 before closing at $29.81. In heavy trading, YRC shares closed with a gain of $2.02, or 7.27 percent. Deutsche Post shares fell 31 euro cents to 20.25 euros in Frankfort. A spokeswoman for Deutsche Post, the parent company of shipping company DHL, declined to comment.
