Thomas Funke is a Rechtsanwalt (Attorney at Law, Germany) and Partner at Osborne Clarke. Dr. Funke advises on German and European antitrust, competition law, as well as the laws impacting the various regulated industries (utilities, telecoms, and the heavily regulated automotive industries). He succeeded in receiving clearance for a $450 million merger of two U.S. technology companies, and represented RAG in court proceedings regarding the ministerial clearance of the 10.4 billion Euro sale of Ruhrgas to E.on. In antitrust complaint actions before the German Federal Cartel Office and the European Commission, Dr. Funke has represented various clients from the motor vehicle and technology sectors. He earned a certificate from the University of California and a Master's degree from the University of Virginia (LL.M.) as a Fulbright scholar, as well as a doctorate from Bonn University (Dr. iur.).
