Dr. Stephen Li PhD

Council Member Biography

Stephen Li, PhD, is the President of Medical Device Testing and Innovations, since November 2001. Dr. Li has vast experience in biomechanics, orthopedics and biomaterials. He has a PhD in Chemistry and has conducted research in biomedical materials and devices for over 20 years. Dr. Li has worked on the development of joint replacement devices, holding several patents. He has consulted for many companies including J&J, Zimmer, Stryker, DePuy, Exactech, Encore, Smith, and Nephew Richards and DuPont. Dr. Li has served as an FDA Panel Member in Orthopedics, as well as serving on the Dental and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Anesthesiology device panels. He is currently a Consultant Reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. Previously, he has served at DuPont Co. for 13 years and the Hospital for Special Surgery for 10 years. Dr. Li also has served as an expert witness in cases involving medical devices and in patent infringement cases for the past 18 years. (This is me - Update Profile)
