Council Member Biography

Stephen Key is Managing Member of Key Consulting, an independent consulting firm. Mr. Key has over 35 years of experience in the accounting industry. Previously, he served as EVP & CFO at Textron, a multi-industry company. Prior to that, he served as EVP & CFO at ConAgra, a Nebraska-based company engaged in the agri-sector and food products across the food chain and served as Managing Partner of Ernst & Young's New York office, where he founded the firm's due diligence practice, and sat on its Management Committee, Board of Partners, and Accounting & Auditing Standards Committee. Mr. Key serves on the Board of Directors for Greenhill Inc., First Wind Holdings, 1-800 Contacts, Deepwater Wind, and The GSI Group. He previously sat on the Boards of Aurora Foods and Sitel Inc. Mr. Key serves on the Board of Trustees for the Rhode Island School of Design, where he chairs the Audit Committee.
